About Me

..Straight out of Mesa AZ bringing you those feel good positive vibes Ryan Poulson, which was founded 2 years ago by Poulson and lead guitarist Tim Crandall, Ryan Poulson’s humble beginnings feature too many late night sessions on the couch with nothing but a tape recorder a case of bear and an abundance of great ideas.Poulson met Crandall when his Family Moved into a suburban neighborhood in Mesa the two immediately became friends after realizing they both shared the same passion for music. Stumbling upon a frequent Jam session that Crandall and long time friend Matt Torres were having, Poulson became inspired enough to invite The 2 over to collaborate with him on ideas. While Crandall and Torres had been playing in a band together at the time, Poulson had never been in a band, never wrote or sang - rather, his interests ran deep in promotions/booking. But he was willing to give this a shot. Unfortunately in the summer of 06 Matt Passed away, which inspired Poulson and Crandall even more to set out and embark on the a dream all 3 of them shared, they were determined more than ever to do it for their Friend that passed. With a far broader range of ideas, both musically and lyrically, they started writing songs with reggae inflections and a unique lead guitar sound that Crandall brought to the table."We would head out to the Liquor store (the local Circle K) grab a shit load of booze get wasted and play for hour’s until something good came out, then we had a little tape recorder that we used to recorded all are shit so we wouldn’t forget it."In due time, Poulson and Crandall began performing locally, latching onto gigs that Poulson could scrounge up. The only problem -- the pair was still running short on material.“ we had about 10 min of solid material, I (poulson) would be playing at Crabby Don’s and would have to freestyle about 30min of bull shit just to finish a set, so I got fired from my job and hit the writing hard and about 2 weeks later we had 12 songs and were ready to go with anything that came are way”Once they had a full set Poulson thought they might as well go into the studio and record a CD so they had something to sell or give away at shows. Only problem was lack of funds, after a short stint at phase 4 studios, Poulson was contacted by Jimmy a local recording engineer that offered to record the 2 for free. Now the two are in the studio recording their first full length album entitled “The First Hit” blending together a smooth Island vibe with reggae/acoustic/freestyle/and a roots feel which they plan to have done before they hit the road on their rock the nations tour in august. My Myspace was created by RyDesign - myspace.com/alovelysortofdeath (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
