Politics and societies.
Good peoples who are interested in politics, reproductive rights, civil rights, and progressive communities. It's a tall order, but luckily I've been able to find a few gems who are my friends for life.
Lately, I've been feeling really tuned-out to good local music, so I'm currently on a quest to start talking about and listening to local music and attending more shows. I've hit up almost everyone I know for recommendations. If you have any, send em my way - I'm open to most everything except shitty bands and "singer/songwriters".
I'm a junkie for horror flicks.
KLRU - especially Sunday mornings.
I'll tell you what I have on my nightstand...January issue of National Geographic, March issue of Bust Magazine, Six Wives - The Queens of Henry VIII by David Starkey (I've been picking this up and putting it down for a about a year now. I'm a little more than half way through it and Henry hasn't divorced Catherine yet.), The Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad, Life Before Man by Margaret Atwood (see heroes), Gellhorn by Caroline Moorehead (about Martha Gellhorn, war reporter and Hemingway's third wife. Sarah, this is who I was at the Cuban halloween party.), and The Scorpian's Gate by Richard Clarke (it was an airport purchase which I've only read the first few pages of. Judging by that, it's been kind of cheesy, but it's an interesting concept and I really respect this man for standing up against a war-time administration and putting his career and reputation on the line).
Hillary Clinton, Kathleen Hanna, Margaret Atwood, feminists, and my friends.
