About Me

Shawn Moseley is making inroads into the neo-classical scene with the single “Searching for the Calm” from his upcoming album, “The Storm Before the Calm.” His contemporary take on classical music offers broad appeal, finding listeners between both fans of traditional and modern classical music. His skills with his instrument result in crisp, sparkling songs with lush melodies and emotional resonance. “Searching for the Calm” woos the listener with Moseley’s distinctive playing. This track is a piano piece that patiently builds its mood, reeling the listener in with the steady, gentle build of emotional content while Moseley’s spellbinding piano style captures the listener with the beauty and rhythm of this artist’s delicate manipulation of the instrument’s keys. Moseley’s experience with the piano goes back to the age of four. Then, in four short years, he commanded an impressive mastery of the piano. Moseley had already achieved recognition as one of the top ten classical pianists in the United States by the time he was eight. His musical interests extend beyond classical. As a teen – the age 14, to be specific – he founded the renowned Hawaiian reggae act, Dread Ashanti. Another four-year increment later and the 18-year-old musician was off to train at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Moseley has worked at a number of famous recording studios and has opened studios of his own. He records, produces and engineers music for other artists on his 'Aumakua Records label, as well as recording his own music at his studio Witchdoctor Recording in Honolulu. He has worked with Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, Ron Levy, Jerry Portnoy, Tony Perez, Karl Denson, Melvin Sparks and many others. He frequently headlines at concerts and has received much critical acclaim.
