Our goal at American Mid-Fi Records is to help support a growing musical community in and around (but definately not limited to) north Austin.
Austin is littered with well-educated, progressive talents, and our job is to facilitate them in one place, under one name: American Mid-Fi.
We feel that the best way to go about what we're doing is to do it in a different way. We scout, record, produce, book, and distribute. We handle merchandise and advertising. Think of us as your full spectrum personal agent. We handle all the inconvenience and "business" part of being a musician so that you can do what you got in to music for in the first place. We hold casual parties for everyone affiliated with the record, as well as official business meetings. This way everyone knows everyone, which can only open more windows. There are no contracts or hidden fees. Everything is up-front and honest. We are musicians, trying to meet other musicians so that we can help them in any way we can.
We do not think of ourselves as a business. We think of ourselves as a movement.
