Mandy Siegel has been writing and performing music both nationally and overseas for the past 15 years. At the tender age of 19, Mandy travelled the world for a year with backpack and guitar in hand, eagerly stopping to play music with all the buskers she met along the way.
On her return she started writing music with her friend and fellow musician Aram Cargill(The Offcutts) and they formed the band New World Souls an 8 piece original funk/hip hop outfit who were later joined by Tommy Spender ( The Offcutts) receiving Triple j airplay and were signed to Rubber Records/BMG.Her beguiling vocals have also been heard in many bands and genres of music over the years such as "Swish" an 18 piece all chicks jazz/funk big band and Wild Orchid a bluesy/jazzy/soul band...to name a few.In 2001 Mandy took a side step from straight up music to perform an underground character she developed called Muthaf*cka MC...the Original Aussie Gangsta Rapper.She wrote and performed/rapped all original songs and spent 5 years performing and touring with her famous alter ego. In 2001 She toured the USA and Canada performing in 38 states and performed at Melbourne's Big Day Out in 2001 and 2006.
In 2005 Mandy returned to writing her own blend of acoustic, soulful rock songs.She started performing gigs in the past 6 months and has recently put together a very special band of double bass, guitar and drums for some upcoming gigs.Mandy is truly an original.Her songs are a blend of heartfelt,poetic lyrics, rich vocals and rockin beats.She is currently recording her debut solo CD.I edited my profile at MyspaceTotal.com . check out these awesome Myspace Layouts!
