I'd like to meet:
Abbot Vs. Dj de Palo (Selenium@Ya'sta, Spain)
Jorge Abad (Abbot) and Sergio Diez (Dj de Palo) are the people behind this project based in Alcorcón (Madrid), where they were born and grew up.
Sergio discovered Psy-Trance movement in Morocco's new year's eve party 2001 and immediately knew he had found his tribe after ten years of intensive search in the electronic territories. Next summer, he began to organize rave parties with Colectribu Pachamama and running Ya'sta Club with different electronic music sessions. In 2003 he replaced Saturday's House session in Ya'sta with Selenium, the only weekly Psy-Trance venue in Madrid, that today continues bringing some of the most relevant international acts every month to the heart of the city. He also has been playing 60's- 70's Psy-rock in open-air parties around Spain and Sun Rite, Transit and Life festivals under "Mr.Frog" name.
Jorge started his dj career in 2001, bringing a new fresh air touch to the underground electronic scene of Madrid. Soon his dark, deep, hypnotic musical sound and precise mixing skills made him to gain a residence in Ya'sta Club where he has played Techno, Electro, Progressive House and Minimal-tech since them. He also has played in many clubs around the country and festivals like Navatek or Etnimalaga and currently is the co-director of Animo festival (www.animo.com.es), the biggest electronic music festival of Madrid (15.000 people in the last edition). Also, recently he began to produce music in the Freescales Project (Minimal-Tech) for Lineaux Records.
In 2003, Jorge was introduced to the Psy-Trance scene by Sergio that gave him another monthly residence in the club when Selenium session was born. Sergio wanted different sounds to mix with trance once a month so he gave his Progressive-Trance records to Jorge for him to play them mixed with Minimal-Tech and Progressive House Records. In 2006, one night in Selenium, the guest dj didn't appear on time so Sergio told Jorge to play the whole session. As he didn't know what to play at that hours, he asked Sergio to give him the tunes and a new duo was born by chance. They started to play together regularly in the club and the result is a combination of Sergio's Progressive Trance taste with Jorges's Minimal-Electro-Tech skills/sounds mixed with 3 CD Players at the same time. Their international debut was in Existence festival 2006 where they opened the main floor in the NYE night with great response of the 1.500 people that were there in that moment. While the project advances, they never cease to surprise each other
