FAMOUS FLUTISTS PRAISE STANKOVYCH NEW EDITIONS
Pierre-Yves Artaud, Prof. at the National Music Academy in Paris:
“Both Idyll and Sonata of the Serenades is full of science and sensibility and the virtuosity passages are never empty of signification: they reveal happiness very communicative! I am sure they will know a successful life with the flutists of course, but not only, also with every music lovers who appreciate the real expression and sensibility in musicâ€.
Michel Debost, Prof. of flute at Oberlin College, USA:
“Stankovych music is well written for the flute, alternating technical, sometimes violent, passages and dreamy episodes in the “Sonataâ€; poetic, peaceful, harmonic moods, especially in the “Idyllâ€. This way of composing is very effective, and speaks to the listener as well as, no doubt, to the performer.
Philippe Bernold, Prof. at the CSSM in Paris and Lyon:
“It's with big pleasure that I can give my warmest recommendations of the new publications of Edition Svitzer which I have luckily discovered. The excellent quality of the sheet music is for now the most beautiful printing you can find on the market. The music by the Ukrainian composer Yevhen Stankovych is very interesting and original and I am sure that it will enrich the flute repertoireâ€.
Anna Dina Schick, solo flutist at the Royal Danish Orchestra.
"Yevhen Stankovychs compositions for flute and piano offer a wide variety of ways to explore the unique tone clours of the flute. Technically challenging, highly expressive and captivating is his "Sonata of the Serenades", a piece that will hopefully make its way into the standard duo repertoire of every flutist and pianist today".
Lena Kildahl, solo flutist in the Ã…rhus Symphony orchestra.
â€Idyll†is a relaxing and almost meditative piece of music. Immediately the composer shows the beauty in the sound of the flute. The piece has clarity and purity and at the same time it is narrative and very melodious. “Seeing†the music in this print invites you to start playing it...... NOW
In “Sonata of the Serenades†both the performer and the listener are challenged ! It is a demanding piece – the music is very intense and insisting ; not leaving the listener but enveloping her in a melodious tone. The composer has reached to the spirit of the flute and I am reminded of some of our great masterpieces – birds whistling, incantations ... the music is emotional, characterising, extrovert but also calm and sensitive. Also due to the very nice lay-out in this edition this music is an inspiring challenge to explore.
Mogens Wenzel Andreasen, author & candidatus in science of music.
"Yevhen Stankovych is an outstanding gifted composer, which every musiclover can relate to: beautiful music, maybe considered as conservative, but always deeply original and recognizable as his own.
Stankovych is not a Russian composer – he's Ukrainian, but even then he is able to continuing the inheritance from the great Russian tradition such as Stravinskij, Prokofiev and Schostakowich".
