About Me

I'm an experienced pro saxophonist who's played in a variety of musical settings worldwide and enjoys the groovier side of things.I'm currently involved in various projects including - the "turbo charged" and rather ecclectic KAVA KAVA (Chocolate Fireguard Music Ltd) where I belt out no nonsense horn riffs. We've Played SXSW in Austin Texas, The MIDI Festival Beijing, Glastonbury, and countless festivals and club gigs throughout Europe - UK soul/funk star NOEL MCKOY - Baritone sax for PRINCE PROSPERO'S ALLSTARS, resident big band at Punchdrunk's acclaimed production the Masque of the Red Death, now performing at parties all over the UK. THE JASON LYON QUARTET/SEXTET, Where we play the best in modern Jazz - THE SCARAMANGA SIX as part of the "Funking Brasstewards" horn section - THE SOUL IMMIGRANTS for a good dose of retro style funk grooves - TONY MOORE who crafts and performs amazing songs and gave me the honour of appearing on his latest album (Perfect and Beautiful). The tracks above (Fruits of the jam 1 & 2) are the beginnings of a project with Guitarist JON SPEEDY (Juju Hustlers/Iman) and bassist DAN SWAIN (Alice Russell Band), We managed to get some free studio time, spent a couple of evenings jamming and were impressed with the results. We've spent some time writing recently and will be recording soon (I can't wait!!)Previous projects include -IMAN, Gifted writer and singer in the NU soul world (Featured on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Bubblers album) BRAVE CAPTAIN where I played on the Better livin....ep, Toured and did a John Peel session at BBC Maida Vale Studios - QUATTRO a 9 piece funk band once resident (6 years I think!) at Cardiff's Toucan club - LEIGHTON JONES a hugely talented singer, musician, and writer.
