Hmmm....I'd say my interests were pretty much covered in the rest of the boxes, right?
Ah....yeah, this could take a while since I'm something of a history buff...I'll try to shorten it by lumping people into groups. First, I'd love to meet a LOT of rulers, especially ancient ones like Hatshepsut, Alexander the Great, Elizabeth I, Napoleon, etc. (gotta find out how to take over the world! BWAHAHA! *cough* anyway...) I'd want to meet major philosophers and theorists, people like Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Marx, etc. so I could figure out what the hell they're trying to say in their ridiculously hard works, thereby allowing me to not have to BS my papers anymore. Major scientists, etc. would be another group I'd like to meet, people like Madame Curie, Hypatia, Freud, Darwin, Salk, and so on. And I would definitely also want to meet (twisted as it may sound) major criminals, if only to pick their brains, to figure out how exactly they could commit murders, etc., with very little (if any) regret at all. I just want to find out how to rob banks you say? Nah, I'm just curious like that. ^_^
I like just about every music genre there is - I feel like they all have something to offer, so I tend to discriminate on a by song basis instead of by group. I have found, however, that I have a particular affinity for music sung in Japanese, even though I don't usually understand what the heck they're singing about XD
Well, here I'd have to list comedies, drama, and animation (yes, animation, but not Disney-ish stuff, I'm talking animation as an artistic medium ex. Hayao Miyazaki's stuff). I was into horror until the stuff being made became way too predictable and boring, though occasionally something will pop up that wouldn't necessarily be called a "horror" film, but still screws with my head - I'm thinking of something like Pan's Labyrinth here, which was INCREDIBLY good, but also SEVERELY messed up. I loved it. XD
I gotta say, a lot of the time I've spent watching t.v. probably should have been used studying :) - that said, I love shows that kind of make you an active participant, like House, Law and Order (specifically SVU), and Psych, where you're always trying to find out what happened before the end of the episode. Same reason I like watching the old twilight zone episodes (the black and white ones); they always kept me guessing. And of course, I like a good dose of comedy to help me unwind after a rough day.
Yet again, I'll read just about anything, as long as it strikes me as something interesting; favorite books, however, tend to have larger than immediate life themes involved, like the nature of life and death, what it means to be human, etc. Something I really liked that I read a little while ago, for example, was Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
I don't like this term. I think everyone is capable of heroic, as well as evil deeds, and has done both at one point in his/her life. Besides, what makes someone a hero anyway? Great deeds recorded in the annals of history, or small deeds that can completely change the life of one person? The former seems too closed-minded, and the other one means I'd have WAY too many heroes to list. -So ends my public service announcement.
