Born in Laguna Beach, California to a musical family,Tommy is the son of a violin maker/jazz guitarist who is a long-time devotee of the music of Django Reinhardt. Tommy began studying guitar at age 7. In 2002 he decided to devote his studies exclusively to the Gypsy Jazz "Manouche" style. Since then he has expanded his genre to include folklore of Romania, Hungary and Russian Tzigane music. Tommy has accompanied world famous musicians such as Stephane Wrembel, Florin Niculescu, Rickie Lee Jones, Jon Brion, Andreas Oberg, Robin Nolan, Ludovic Beier and has become a disciple of Angelo Debarre. As guitarist for the Gypsy Kidz, Tommy toured LA and the San Francisco Bay Area with headliner David Grisman on Amoeba Records’s Gypsy Caravan Tour. Not only being a traditionalist within the style of gypsy swing he has acompanied and recorded with popular artists in the world of pop, indy and contemporary jazz. He recieved his formal guitar education at California Institute of the Arts, Valencia (under Miroslav Tadic and Larry Koonse) and on his extensive tours has studied with masters Serge Camps and the legendary Petro Ivanovitch of Les Tziganes Ivanovitch. At 20 he has allready completed a tour of Norway, France and Japan and is producer and engineer on his latest carefully crafted album of gypsy inspired acoustic jazz.Currently he is recording his new release and will be featured on the new Marie MacGillis CD with the Sweet Hollywaiians.
