My wife calls me the Emily Dickinson of pop songs. So I guess that makes this page my left desk drawer. Unless she's suggesting that all of my songs sound like "The Yellow Rose of Texas". As it happens, I am from Texas. I live in Chicago, now. And most of these songs were recorded in an apartment living room in Colorado. Which brings me back to Emily. She had a house, I believe. I don't. I'm also a man. She was not. So, at least in that regard, I'm more Whitmanesque. I am, sometimes, preoccupied with death and always with the spaces between. I am rarely boldly hanging myself out there or taking chances or putting an "O" at the front of a phrase. So, I guess I'm more Emily where it counts. Welcome to my desk drawer. (Please put everything back before you leave)
