About Me


Dread Iam is a published author of numerous short stories, essays, and poems. His work can be found in the award winning literary anthology, Spring Street, Writers' Ink, various other publications, and the prototype issue of the first ever African-American, national, daily newspaper, The Blackboard National Provider.
With several writing and poetry awards to his credit, Dread has been a featured reader/poet at the Columbus Arts Festival and the Columbus Book Festival. He also made it as a finalist to the 2006 Grand Slam to represent Columbus, Ohio at the regional and national levels as part of the Black Pearl Poetry Team, and again in 2007 for the Individual World Poetry Slam (IWPS).
Advanced English courses in writing poetry and fiction, analyzing literature, and composition techniques have developed his natural talent. He is currently working on many projects simultaneously, which includes five children's book series, a collection of shorts and poems, a novel, his first spoken word CD, and a guide to paraplegic sexuality.
