In 1984 I moved to Clayton Georgia giving me the opportunity to be in the Foxfire music class. Obviously my life would have been diferent had I not moved, makes ya wonder... Anyway I spent 84-89 trying to figure out songs, trying to write songs and performing for different schools. In 1987 I landed a small role with 5 lines in the TV movie "Foxfire" staring John Denver, Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn. After graduation I moved to California where I met with a few agents of the undesirable type, needless to say an acting career never worked out for me. In 1994 I moved to Maine and my first night there went to open mic where I met Haakon Kallweit a very talented singer, songwriter and musician. Haak introduced me to Scott Link aka Diesel Doug who was looking for a female singer to sing a couple of songs he wrote. Not long after I started sitting in with Diesel Doug and the Long Haul Truckers and performing those 2 songs "Hazy Moon" and "Circles". In 1997 I started playing with Tom Jacques on standup bass and a drummer named Jason. Tom started meeting more acoustic players and before long we had a bluegrass band. What started out as "Jenny Jumpstart and the Downhill Ride"
became "The Jerks of Grass" a hard working well known bluegrass band in Portland Maine. In 1999 two friends of mine were looking to start a rockabilly band and they needed a standup bass player I voluntered and "The Capitol Gunmen" were formed. Later we started playing some of my songs and had 2 bands in one. "Jenny Jumpstart and The Cap Guns" was opening for "The Capitol Gunmen" it made for a long but fun night. In 2007 I moved to Athens Georgia where I'm looking forward to meeting new musicians and playing out as much as I can.Hope to see you around
