A passing thought on a cold night in a downtown Montreal bar is the origin of Wyl Livin. The idea came to Daybi and Orick who were taking a break from shooting a video for the lead single for their upcoming “Tumivut” record (release: June.05/07 on Arbor Records). The dynamic duo decided to produce a guitar/rock based album that would give them a needed break from the two year production run of Urban/Hip-Hop projects. After completing his debut solo LP “First Contact” for Bombay Records (release: Late Spring.07) Daybi immediately boarded a plane for Montreal to bring this idea into fruition.
Through some last minute planning the group secured a country house complete with a wood burning stove to write and record this project. This atmosphere allowed the members to come together and focus completely on the songwriting and recording of this album. The result of this 3 week process is “When Heaven Falls”- A 10 song journey that dips and dives thru the melodic themes and unique writing that is Wyl Livin. Unconcerned with the genre driven market of today “When Heaven Falls” is an honest offering of talented musicians with different backgrounds coming together to write good music. It bends the realms of what is acceptable in today’s musical climate and pushes forward the idea that “ Music is borderless with an ever changing landscape.”
