Well, I figured it was about time to do a nice revamp of the about me section being that so many new and exciting things have occured!
Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Lynette and I am the founder of The Darkside of Staten Island Paranormal Investigative Team (DSSI). We have been around since June of the year 2005 which makes us an organization of many years. Throughout those few years we have learned many things relating to the field of parapsychology and paranormal investigating. We are passionate about what we do and enjoy sharing our knoweledge and experiences with others. We originally started out as a bunch of close friends who shared a love for things that go bump in the night and decided to be daring and go venture out into the world of the unknown. Soon, we found more people just like us and even people that needed our help and guidance. We eventually became a full fledged team who not only wanted to be adventurous, but also reach out to those who need our help. Some people seek closure about deceased relatives, others wish to be rid of their unseen menaces. No matter what the case may be, we are always there 100%. We are a non-profit organization who reaches out to the people in their community. If you are ever in any need of our assistence you can contact the group or any of our members and we would be happy to set up an appointment to meet with you. If you do not wish to talk via myspace, our email is [email protected] and you can contact us there. We prefer if you visit the website itself and book your appointment in our "contact us" portion.

Suggestions?
You are more than welcomed to send us suggestions for future places to investigate. We are constantly looking for more thrilling places to visit and we believe the sky is the limit. Find us a place, and we'll investigate it. Whether it is a private residence, business, or cemetery, we would like to know about it and possibly check it out.
We enjoy catching different types of anomolies on film. In doing things like that you must take many precautions before jumping to conclusions about your finds. You need to make sure that your camera lens is ALWAYS clean and there is nothing that would create a glare in your pictures, as those are very strong factors and can create something that would look very simlar to something genuine. The best type of camera to use when looking for paranormal evidence, is a digital camera with it's own flash. The better the resolution, the better the picture. If you HAVE to use standard film it is recommended that you use 35mm 200 or higher. Sometimes 800 can be grainy but it still takes extremely good pictures. For our photos we typically use a digital camera or our professional Canon zoom lens camera. There are also other means of finding paranormal activity such as the use of a camcorder, infrared cameras, DVRs, motion detection, dowsing rods, EVP recording, infrared thermometers, compasses, EMF detectors, cell counters, radiation detectors, night vision goggles, and thermal imaging...the list is endless! However, the most important thing to remember is to be SAFE. Do not trespass! Even though WE may do it, it is NOT okay and against the law. If you get caught then it is your own fault. If WE get caught it is OUR own fault. ALWAYS carry a flashlight whether it is a head lamp or a regular light. It is always a plus to use red flashlight covers on your lights if you are using a night vision camera because it will work to enhance your nightvision for more clear shots.
Be safe and happy hauntings!
