Guillermo Guzman has been making music for over 30 years. He has played bass professionally in the studio, film, tv, and on stage, with his own bands and with well known pop, jazz, latin and world music artists. He has also been producing records during the last 15 years, for artists such as Justo Almario, Juan Carlos Quintero, Thania Sanz, Richie Gajate Garcia, Machehual, Luis Villegas, Jon Varto, Rogelio Mitchell, Soulpoet, Richard Samuels, Murray Middleman, Viva Jalisco, Mauricio Ramirez, Osmin Aparicio, and many others.A native of Bogota, Colombia where he started his musical career, playing in Rock & roll bands and his own band (La banda de Marciano} and later on moving into a studio recording career, recording over 100 albums for just about every artist and major record label in the country.Came to the United States in October 1976 where he lived and work with several bands, backing up shows every weekend at "El Patio" a very prestigious latin club in Queens, New York, and playing jazz, rock and funk gigs teh rest of the week, he now resides in Los Angeles where he settled in 1978.He was part of the house band for "The Tony Orlando Show", for The Paul Rodriguez Show" and "The Gisselle Fernandez Show", with numerous appearences at "The Johnny Carson Show", The Merv Griffit Show, The Mike Douglas Show, The Jerry Lewis Telethon, host band in New York, 5 years in a row, etc.He played or recorded with Aretha Franklin, Billy Preston, Adam Sandler, Rita Moreno, Captain & Tenille, Nelle Carter, Stephen Stills, Felix Cavalieri, Jose Feliciano, Melba Moore, The Beach Boys, The Platters, Chick Corea, Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, Juliet Prowse, Tolu, Tommy Walker, Huayucaltia, Chayanne, Ricky Martin, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Michelle Greene, Luis Perico Ortiz, Alex Acuña, Pete & Sheila Escovedo, Raphael, Ana Gabriel, Marisela, Carmen Jara, Lucho Gatica, Angelica Maria, Olga Gillot, Sarita Montiel, Armando Manzanero, and many more.
After several tours with internationally acclaimed artists, like Tony Orlando, Vikki Carr, Jackson Browne, Strunz & Farah, Justo Almario, Bongologic, Rique Pantoja, Latoya Jackson, Sherman Hemsley, Nelson Ned, Marisela, Joan Sebastian and many more.
