Esperanska was born back in 2006 when five guys found eachother to form a ska punk band with portuguese lyrics, fast off-beats and beautiful melodies. The result is a mix of folk, rock, ska and popular styles that finds its way to everybody's ear. They've been continuously expanding, adding more members, the brass section is still growing.
The guys, rooted in Portugal, Germany and elsewhere around the mediterranean, present their songs live with all their heart and soul transmitting loads of fun. Dancing crowd guaranteed!
They just have won the award for Germany's best new SKA act in 2008 (Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis) and have been selected to appear on a variety of music samplers.

Esperanska sao de Remscheid, uma banda de amigos que tem em comum o gosto pela musica. Inserem-se num estilo Ska/Punk/Folk, mas sempre abertos a qualquer tipo de influencias musicais,sem preconceitos.
Os temas focados nas musicas, sao sobre os sentimentos, sao questoes sobre a vida, e a intolerancia. As cancoes sao cantandos na sua maioria em portuges,
mas tambem ai a banda nao tem preconceitos, e temas em Ingles.
Esperanska e uma banda de concertos! Desde 2006 temos actuado ao vivo regularmente tendo passado dos 20 concertos num espaco de dois anos, destacando-se actuacoes em eventos (entre outros Ajz Bahndamm, MTC, Underground, Kraftstation, Essigfabrik, Welle,
no Final do Concurso Emergenza Festival, varios Festivais e.t.c.).
Em 2006 gravamos um Demo-CD com 5 temas.
Em 2007 uma EP com 5 titulos, no estudio Donna em Remscheid.
Desde entao continuamos a dar concertos e a trabalhar em novas cancoes.

Vom Deutschen Rock- und Popmusikerverband zur "besten Ska-Gruppe 08" gewählt, machen esperanska ihrem Namen alle Ehre: Ihre Debut EP Proud Coños, bestehend aus 7 astreinen Ska-Titeln, zeigt neue Facetten auf, die man von diesem Genre so noch nicht kannte. Musikalisch bestechen die Songs durch ihren unverwechselbaren Sound aus Ska, Ska-Punk und einem Schuss portugiesischer Folklore. Temperamentvoll werden lateinamerikanische Rythmen in den treibenden Off-Beat integriert.
Die meist portugiesischen Texte runden den esperanska -Stil ab. Inhaltlich breit gefächert und auf das konzentriert, was die Mitglieder eben beschäftigt, heißt da ein Titel „Papelada“, auf portugiesisch „Papierkram“. Der Song der EP, der bis jetzt wohl am meisten für Furore sorgte, entstand aufgrund einer Heizungsrechnung, über die man sich aufregte.
Proud Coños ist natürlich und authentisch. Mal schnell, fast aggressiv, mal mit instrumentalen genrefremden Spielereien verziert, ist diese EP trotz und gerade wegen ihrer musikalischen Vielfalt eine absolut runde Sache geworden - tanzbar und mitreißend! Eine einzige Fiesta! Diese Gruppe möchte man danach live sehen! Außerdem nahm die Musiker-Fachzeitschrift "Musicsupporter" Ende 2008 den Song "Papelada" mit auf ihre CD-Beilage. Also, am besten direkt rein hören, Videos anschauen und selbst einen Eindruck machen!
