Drinking bourbon. My favorites are George T. Stagg, Elijah Craig 12-Year, and Old Forester. Anything involving audio and video, movies (HD-DVD and DVD), music (live, SACD, DVD-A, CD, DualDisc, vinyl), art and design, shooting firearms, and video games (XBOX 360, Playstation 2).
I also enjoy building computers. My home network has 8 full-time use computers including one in the garage (and several experimental boxes that don't get a lot of use). My network has over 2 terabytes of storage and a digital music library shared all over the house. In my dubious spare time I build computers to give to kids.
Who I'd like to meet? I already have trouble keeping up with the friends I currently have---but there's always room for more, right?
A few long time favorites include Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, Elton John, Dwight Yoakam, Johnny Cash, Ween, Weezer, AC/DC, Nine Inch Nails, Johnny Horton, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Johnny Cash.
I despise contemporary Jazz.
I love movies. I'm not terribly picky. Comedy, sci-fi, adventure, etc. My favorites include all of the James Bond movies. I tend to really dig movies that come out in a series including Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, Matrix and Harry Potter. Is it just me or are there a lot more good movie series lately?
I also enjoy the classics. One of my goals is to watch the best 100 movies of all time and all Oscar winners.
I watch a lot of television for someone who tells himself, "I don't watch television."
Well... I tend to rent the television series on DVD and watch them all at once. Lately I've watching the Sopranos, Lost, the West Wing, Alias, Star Trek (yeah... I know), Battlestar Galactica, Big Love, Carnivale, and 24.
I've also, by association, seen all seasons of Sex and the City---my wife is in love with this show.
Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury and Ian Flemming (and any of the subsequent James Bond authors - George Benson or John Gardner).
A lot of people assume that I would be a big fan of the Tolkien books. While I did enjoy the movies extensibly, I've always had trouble getting into the books (apart from the Hobbit which has a completely different literary voice and is much easier to digest). During college I used to read a lot of William S. Burrough's and even got the chance to meet him and shoot guns with him a few days before he died.
