Based out of Montreal, Canada, Triskalia came together in December of 2002 as an alternative band. Triskalia brings together divergent musical styles to form what is a totally unique sound. When Triskalia was formed the members quickly noticed something that they had not seen in previous bands in which they had played. All egos were left at the door and the songs came first. It is all about the music. Most bands come together all having similar tastes, backgrounds and experience. However, with Triskalia this was not the case. Triskalia is an eclectic mix of seasoned musicians from Folk, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Heavy Metal and even Death Metal backgrounds. The music is approached with no genre in mind which clearly leaves it indefinable. If forced to specify it is easy listening, calming, even meditative at times, yet edgy and powerful.

Triskalia took a daring step with Myth, Magick & Mysteries in order to give the audience an honest listen to who they are. The album was recorded as a live jam session as opposed to separate tracks. This is how they sound live. This was an engineering feat to achieve and involved some fourteen microphones plus several direct lines to the board. It should also be noted that most of the songs on the album were done in one and two takes. When you hear Myth, Magick & Mysteries you are hearing Triskalia. The songs on this CD are based around the themes of Myth, Magick and Mysteries and how they interact with our lives in a modern context.

Up to this point Triskalia has been completely self produced, self managed and has handled all their own booking. Triskalia has gained wide popularity and received rave reviews. Triskalia has had the good fortune of performing numerous shows including seven nights during the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Three years at the Montreal International Folk Festival. Their music has been played on radio and been used as theme music for a radio show. They have performed at the Montreal Olympic Stadium for the Salon Des Science Occult and many other venues. Their show is intimate and inviting and it would not be unusual to see people spontaneously start dancing like the flames of a fire.

Jason Gui Bernard has been playing stringed instruments for 25 years, and through those years he has played a 5 string banjo, tenor banjo, mandolin but always return to rhythm guitar as his instrument of choice. He has developed his own style of playing over time using tonal chords, middle voicing’s and his favorite's triads to accentuate the melody lines of his songs.

Jason is presently playing a B-15 Norman 12 string guitar. This wonderful guitar was born to play in the woods around a Bardic fire. He also play a tenor banjo found in a pawn shop and restored to its original glory.

Jason is also co-founder of the Montreal International Folk Festival. The festival was started August 2002, and he hopes it will continue to grow and flourish over the years, allowing local musicians a venue in which to showcase their original material.

Roger Lymburner Born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in a musical household his mother is a classical pianist and his father is a blues harmonica player. His formal training began at the age of eight with classical piano which lasted for several years. He then took a shot at drums but as it turned out he fell in love with the strings. There is a guitar or bass always within arms reach in Roger's place. He has also had formal vocal training which is utilized in Triskalia harmonizing with Jason.Roger and Ryan both left the "Aaron Amadeus Band" one week before forming Triskalia with Jason, while recording the bands second album. This was due to, too many constraints on his playing and management conflicts. However, they remain friends and Roger regards Aaron as an amazing song writer. To quote speed metal guitarist Pierre Robillard, whom Roger and Ryan also both played with for a couple of years in the past, "Roger plays bass with authority. " Roger has been playing Bass for about 25 years. His influences are mainly from the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal genre. His mentors are Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, Terry Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath, Bob Daisly of Ozzy Osbourne and Jimmy Bain of The Ronnie James Dio Band. Back in the eighties Roger also studied bass under Paul Hardwood of Frank Marino's band "Mahogany Rush". Roger’s main rig includes Washburn and Ibanez Bass's, a Trace Elliot AH500X 500 watt amplifier, two Marshall 4X10 bass cabinets and a Boss effects. When using picks he uses Jim Dunlop 1mm nylons. When playing the six string he weilds a Yamaha classical guitar and a Kramer electric complete with a Floyd Rose II and an EMG 81 pick-up. This is a classic shredding axe from the mid 80's. The old Van Halen and Vivian Campbell types. Typically all guitars are strung with D'addario strings.

Ryan Higgins began his percussion career at age fourteen, with the alternative band Black Sugar, a year later he was hired to tour with the late 90's hardcore band J.F.K. Later on he was working in his own thrash metal project called Sabotage Campaign and sat in for the debut album for the death metal band Impaled. He also spent two summers working with the renowned Pembroke thrash band, Discypless. Recently this character can be seen on the James Bond video for the Aaron Amadaeus band. Now he is playing hand drums for Triskalia and working on his solo project called "Dreams of Insanity".

The incredible ghostly voice throughout Triskalia's musicbelongs to Élodée VanHess and is one of the key elementsthat gives Triskalia its ethereal signature sound. It has becomesynonymous with the name Triskalia.Élodée Van Hess (alias Geneviève Ayotte) released herfirst solo album in 2005 "Le Ban Stella Camée." Recordedin 2004-2005 at Studiorange (Sonarium) and inBoucherville and at Studio Guy Rheame realization andarrangement: Jean-François Aubin and assistant: Bruno deOliveira/Ki Do mixing engineer:Vincent Chourot mastering:Steve L' Nailsmith; extract: The Quay, composed at 17years of age in 1999.

The Hours

Waiting for the ours, waiting for our hour. A thousand lifetimes I'm with you again.

I love you now as I loved you then, come with me my lover and friend. I promised you that I'd stay till the end.

Your in my dreams, your in my visions. Your are the reason for living, everything I do, I do it for you.

Catherine your the one for me, it's so perfectly plain to see. Our souls were connected in lifetimes beyond.

I dream about you night after night and I have all of my life, memories of lives long ago.

Born again into this world, to find each other once again. I'll fight for you and die till the end.

Two spirits from the dawn of time, eons have come and gone. Love undying, to be apart is alone.

Catherine it's me, can you still see? Forever together across space and time. I found you again lover of mine.

Tempest

(Tempest Smith 1988-2001)

Words and music by: Roger C. Lymburner Copyright Litha (July) 2003.

So young and beautiful, so pure and true, the call came so early inlife to see beyond the veil.

You could see so much beauty in all, they could not see in you, werethey so afraid that you were what they could not be?

A child of nature, a spirit devine. You embraced what others cannotfind.

Soul searching across the divide, your memory shall be hounored forall time.

(Chorus) (Oh dear Temepest these tears are for you. My dear child words spokenjust for you.)

You decided to end the pain, for them you could not change. To fit intheir tiny box blind and all the same.

Death will eventually take us all, so sad you could not wait, now youwalk the other side free from all the hate.

I wish I could hold you and tell it will all be alright, now you jointhe list of nine million whose candles burn forever bright.
