About Me

Hello, My name is Ethan Cramer I am 27 years old from Lehighton, PA. I work as an Emergency Medical Technician and I'm also a musician. This is page is made to bring awareness to Domestic Violence. If you would like to know more about me or my music, please visit my music page below. Thank You.
THE STORY
In August 2006 I started to work with a new partner at one of my EMT jobs. In just a short time of working with this girl I would come to learn about Domestic Violence and the effects it has on people's lives. I remember going from call to call and just talking with her about everything from our personal lives, to our likes and dislikes. We got to know general things about each other as co-workers do. Listening is something I've been told I'm good at, although it seems I speak before I think is what get's me in trouble sometimes. I remember her talking to me about past relationships and how she didn't really have the best of luck with guys. She would talk about her past abusive relationships she had been in, the police that were of little or no assistance at the time, her father that passed away when she was a little girl, her life dreams and goals of being a flight medic and most importantly just being HAPPY in life.
No matter what we talked about there was always one thing that came into conversation was her daughter. I never met anyone who cared so much about their child and put them first and themself second all the time. I remember one time coming back from a call and she had her daughter on speaker phone asking her what she wanted for Christmas. Seeing the smile on this girls face as her daughter was telling her what she wanted was priceless. I know her daughter means everything to her and she is the reason she pushes forward. I'm pretty sure she loves her daughter more than life it's self.
The profile song playing on this page was written back in late August 2006 as I lay in bed 5 at Palmerton Hospital awaiting surgery. The lyrics just came to me as the verses of the song are all things she had talked about and or told me at one time or another I just had to come up with the chorus which was simple. The one thing I had always told her is that she is strong enough to make it through anything. The ending of the song is about her daughter growing up and her wanting to be there for all those special moments a girl has in life such as sweet 16, first date and graduation day. "Strong Enough" was recorded 6 days after surgery. I remember the first time I played the song for the girl who inspired me. It brought tears to her eyes.
"Strong Enough" was released in October 2006 in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I have written many songs about people and real life issues before and have never received this much attention. The original idea was for this to be "her" song. She later gave me permission to release the song in hopes of helping others who are or have gone through some of the same things she had went through. I would like to thank everyone for their emails, comments and stopping me on the street to say they liked the song. I never thought I could impact so many people's lives with just one song. I never intended for this to have such a following or movement as that was never my intention. "Strong Enough" was written with the sould purpose of showing a young lady that she is strong enough to handle anything this world puts in her way. Special thanks to the people who come out to see me perform and some of whom have learned the lyrics to the song so they can sing along. I am forever greatful. "Strong Enough" will be rerecorded and released on a new CD in early 2008.
I would like everyone to know that this all started with a STORY. A story of a girl that inspired me to write a song that so many people can relate to on a topic that is usually not talked about and kept within the walls of our homes. Hundreds of thousands of women, children and even men are injured or killed by their significant other every year. Taking the first step to get help is always the hardest but it will get easier. If you or someone you know are involved in a domestic violence situation please call 911, seek out professional help or visit the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence website www.ncadv.org
A very special thanks to the girl this story is about. As I've told you before you have forever changed my life for the better. For that I am forever gratful. Keep the faith and never stop believing in yourself.
