DAKKOTA is a North Carolina-based country music band. The group was formed by a remarkable combination of fate and pure coincidence. The band was born in early January of 1994. Dakkota has experienced lows which should justify a "VH1 documetary" and highs which could have awarded them "CMA Entertainers of The Year". Through it all, the group continues to share the lust for America's greatest music format, country music.Dakkota combines the melodies of country with the drive of Southern rock to produce their own distinct sound. Their perseverance has awarded them "Country Music Entertainers of the Year" for five consecutive years by the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA). In 1999 and in 2000 they won the Nat'l award for "Best Band" for the "Assocation for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA)".
