BBLLLLLLAAAAACCCCKKKKKKMMMMOOOOOOOOOBBBBBBblack mobb Seven members of the gang “Black Mobb†are the first in DeKalb County to be indicted under the new Georgia Street Gang Act (OCGA§ 16-15-4). The DeKalb County grand jury indicted members of “Black Mobb†for shooting at least four people and terrorizing at least one local high school over a four month period. Allan Jarvis AKA “Jr†(20) of Stone Mountain and Brandon Hughes AKA “Maniac†(19) of Stone Mountain were indicted on Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime. On April 9, 2006 the two got into an altercation with a rival gang member at a Quick Trip on Panola Road. Shots were fired and one person was shot and injured. Tyrell Williamson (18) of Ellenwood was indicted on Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime. On July 23, 2006, Williamson, along with three unknown individuals drove by a house party in Decatur, and shot at a group of people outside. One person was shot and injured. Drego Maxwell AKA “Dre†(19) of Decatur and Michael Favors AKA “Mcaffe†(19) of Decatur were indicted on charges of Carrying a Weapon on School Property, Possession of a Sawed Off Shotgun, and Discharge of a Gun Near a Public Street. The charges stem from an August 22, 2006 incident where a sawed off shotgun was fired on Southwest Dekalb High School campus while school was in session. Djuan Moore Moore AKA “Dread†(18) of Stone Mountain, Allan Jarvis AKA “Jr†(20), of Stone Mountain and Darrell Curney AKA “Squirt†(19) of Decatur were indicted on three counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime. On the afternoon of August 30, 2006, Jarvis, Moore and Curney drove by a bus stop at Redan Road near Redan High School and fired at school aged individuals. Two victims were shot and injured. Because each of the defendants is allegedly a member of “Black Mobb†and are charged with committing these acts as a member of that gang, they are all also charged with violating the Georgia Street Gang Act. Under this newly enacted law, the State can pull all of these acts together and prosecute the gang as whole. “We are dedicated to going after these gang members with the help of DeKalb Police departments and other local authorities,†DeKalb County District Attorney Gwen Keyes Fleming said. “Using this anti-gang statute we can hold these gang members accountable for terrorizing our neighborhoods. Our goal is to take back our streets from gangs to ensure the safety of our citizens.†This case was made through the joint efforts of the DeKalb County Police Department’s Gang and Major Felony Units.
