In 2007, the Green Mt. Pranksters went from a first practice to being chosen as the supporting act to former Phish keyboardist Page McConnell’s band at the Springfield, VT celebration of the national premier of the Simpson’s Movie. Springfield, VT was chosen to be the “Official Simpson’s Springfield” after their video submission won the 20th Century Fox Studio’s Hometown Movie Challenge. On Saturday, January 19th 2008 the band was the featured musical guest on the award-winning local TV variety show, Late Night Saturday with Tim Kavanagh, broadcast on WCAX-TV the CBS affiliate in Burlington VT, and on many cable systems in Vermont & New Hampshire. The band was founded by Bassist/Vocalist Bill Baker and his wife Suz.In 2008 the band relocated to NY and new Guitarist/ Vocalist Andy Roth joined. Drummer Pete Krupka, from Pittsfield MA pounds the skins and Latham's Mike McDonald plays keyboards and also adds vocals. Much more than just a Greatful Dead cover band, The Green Mt.
