After the break-up of the well known underground alternative punk band Standing Stones in autumn 2006, the three of us decided to keep on playing together. Our drummer, Jeppe, became our lead singer and to replace him on the drums we had Andreas’ little brother Mathias, who is a fast and hard beating mother fucker like an anvil, chilli sauce and Molotov cocktails in one fabulous mixture, to do the job. Lasse stayed tuned on the bass while Andreas kept his job on the guitar too. We then had Kicking Against the Pricks
The name refers to a passage from the Bible (Acts 26:14), which reads "And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecute: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." The phrase refers to the act of an ox kicking in irritation at the sharpened wooden rod, called a prick or goad, used by his driver when tilling soil. The name also refers to the great album Kicking Against the Pricks by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
Our genre is a bit difficult to describe, but we call it progressive, hard-beating guitar rock. Our latest genre invention is blood ‘n’ babes. Don’t take it serious though see it trough ironical glasses. Cuz’ we like to take a shit on the rock ‘n’ roll phenomenon with cheesy texts about blood, groupies in the backstage room, big crowds and drugs. That’s why it’s blood ‘n’ babes and that’s why we play the shit and sing about it
Our first concert was at the competition GME 2007. Very surprisingly we won the competition and it sort of kick-started the band. We have done great in the Emergenza-festival. We proceeded to the national final in Store Vega and became among the 10 best in the final
