About Me

I wrote my first song at 15....but didn't perform my first song until I was 27. So although that makes me a bit of a late bloomer, looking back it was a necessary step. I've performed solo and in bands - in pubs and at festivals now for over 10 years. The older I get, the better I feel about my songwriting and performing. I love performing, especially when you can get really comfortable with your audience. So I'm a singer songwriter. I draw my greatest inspirations from going to live gigs as a punter. When you're watching a band you see lots of things - on the stage and in the crowd. Some of my favourite artists paint amazing pictures with their words and the vibe created by live gigs see punters do extraordinary things. Song ideas start flowing....so I'm forever putting these ideas into my phone.....its a bit unsociable at times, but it works for me.So when you roll up to a Pete Wilson gig, get a beer, get comfy and enjoy the sight of a guy his guitar and his amp performing his songs that will tell you a story or maybe make you think about things a little differently. Pay a little closer attention and you might find out what makes him tick. MyGen Profile Generator

Band Website: You're looking@it
Band Members: Just me - the rider lasts longer that way
Influences: Hmmm lets see - Carus, Loudon Wainwright III, Bright Eyes, Mick Thomas (and the Weddoes), The Wonder Stuff, Billy Bragg, The Waifs, Nick Barker, Bob Evans....and there’s probably heaps of others but I won’t bore you.......anyways I find it more fun to listen to the music first and try and pick the influences!
Sounds Like: Its a bit folk, a bit country, a bit pop and at a stretch....a bit punk. The greatest compliment I have received is that I have the ability to put into words what people are thinking and feeling.
