I am the proud mother of a 2 year old and an Army wife. We live in Copperas Cove- a "suburb" if you will, of Fort Hood, Texas. We are here partially by choice and partially by Uncle Sam not picking a better place in Texas for an Army installation.I am currently a part-time stay at home mom. Thomas goes to preschool at First Methodist in Killeen and he loves his teachers. During the day, I work as a Team Manager for Tastefully Simple and am 2 classes away from having my Master's in Special Education. Tastefully Simple has been a complete Godsend, it allows me to have a flexible schedule and most importantly, it's how I pay for Thom's preschool!

My Interests

We enjoy working on weekend projects- you will see many of them as I add pics to this new page. I enjoy landscaping and gardening, goofing off on the computer and staying in touch with my so many wonderful friends from home and those I have met through the Army. Thomas loves playing in the backyard with Duke, the American Bulldog. He loves fruit snacks and Diego. He is attached to his Mimi and "Pimpy" and has to call them at least once a day to tell them he's watching a moobie!(movie).. He spent 2 weeks with them at Christmas, grew extremely close to his cousins who he now calls RayRay (Audrey) and Sissy (Alexandra). He calls my sister, Aunt Momma.

Books:

Right now, I'm reading "Together" a book written by Katherine Tupper Marshall, wife of General George C. Marshall.

Heroes:

My maternal grandparents are my heroes. They laid the foundation of a strong work ethic, taught us the importance of public service and so many other ways imaginable. My parents are my heroes. They raised my sister and I to live in the "real" world, although the real world isn't always nice to you. They taught us to accept others as they are and instilled in us the character to be able to be happy for other people's successes. They told us the truth when the truth wasn't always pretty.Heroes are people who contribute to someone elses life. They put other's before themselves. They give more than they take. They accept their children's choices and respect, support and love their children's family. Are you a hero?
