After Forever was formed in 1995, their music was mostly death metal orientated with classical influences. When Floor Jansen joined the band (1997), the music got more diverse but always contained metal elements. After Forever recorded their first album Prison of Desire in 2000. This album was recieved very well in the press and gave the band the oppurtunity to develop. In 2001 they released Decipher. After Forever became internationally recognised as one of the best female fronted metal bands. They toured through Europe and South Amerika with succes, performed in nearly every venue in Holland and recorded the mini album Exordium in 2003.This mini album also contained a mini dvd and gave a glimpse of the new album they would release in 2004:Invisible Circles.Invisible Circles is a concept album, this pretty serious concept (about a girl that has to grow up under difficult circumstances) suits the music very well and earned a lot of respect. Invisible Circles even reached 26th place in the Dutch Top 100 album charts and also recieved very good critics in Germany wich will be an important market for After Forever. After the release of Invisible Circles the band started working on their fifth release called Remagine. During this time Andre Borgman (drummer) was diagnosed with cancer. This was a very difficult time for Andre and the band, but despite this illness Andre worked on the album. Four months after the diagnose Andre got the word that he was healthy. In September 2005 "Remagine" was in store and it again recieved good critics in the Netherlands, but also in other countries. To promote the new album After Forever will be touring through Europe and later this year through South America. It is very obvious that After Forever has grown a lot the past years and they will continue to grow. They are already working on their new album and organising new tours, see you there!!!
