Wondering Souls was formed in January of 2006 by a tightly knit circle of 4 friends. The seeds of inspiration for the band were found at a small hand drum shop that was part of a medieval festival in a small town in Texas. That very day at the stand the chemistry between them was evident as the men played colorful earthy beats on the drums and Aimee began to sing what could only be described as enchanting trancelike melodies. After all the members had purchased their drums of choice, several drum circle type gatherings followed and slowly, the guitar was introduced into the mix. After a little bit of time had passed, guitar player and singer Bobby had written a few songs he wanted to try, thus the birth of Wondering Souls as it is today. To this point the band has played several coffee shop shows, as well as a large outdoor festival called Wild Fire which took place in 2006 on a blistering cold day. They just recently released their first EP entitled Lost in This World. Keep your eyes open for locations you can find the EP and future show listings.
This is what Bobby had to say about the band at the moment: "I think we're in a pretty good place right now as it stands. I want to take it a lot further though. Start playing a lot more gigs, get several more songs written, then take it to the studio. When we first started I was hesitant to post the songs that we recorded on my 8 track at the house, but now, after several people have already heard them in their rough demo quality, that say they like the material, I grew enough of a spine to go ahead and get the music out there despite some of the minor flaws in the recordings. Those were early recordings anyway. After we go to the studio things will be a lot better then they are right now. I just want to let people know that we exist and begin to share our music with as many people as we can.
