Bob has many years experience in the music business. Bob actually started out playing drums in the late 70s touring the Midwest with a country act, Dave Toland and The Armadillo Desert Band. Achieving Billboard 100 listing. For 10 (1995-2005) years he has led the local Rock & Roll band, Legacy. Also drumming and a collaboration with the Dan Peterson Band and the release of "Daddy-O" cd. All the while he has also sang and played mandolin with various types of musical acts including Bluegrass, Country and Rockabilly, most recently with the Acoustic Duo, Dan & Bob. Led a Bluegrass Band; The Grass & Eclectic Company in Wisconsin for a couple years, played all the local festivals and released a cd to rave reviews! Strong backbeat chop and high energy solos define his playing.

Band Members: The newly formed Acoustic Cookin' is "Servin' up Tasty Music", to the greater Lake Monticello and Palmyra area. The members include Bob on mandolin and vocals. Tom Cook and TJ Cook on Guitars and Vocals. Tom is a seasoned singer/player with strong country and gospel foundation. Once pursued by booking agents to go full time professional on the country circuit, he brings great feeling and sentiment to all his songs. His son TJ has followed in the musical family bringing in the new influences of country, rock and gospel.Also, occasionally playing guitar is Bob"s 20-year-old son, Steve McDermott. Steve also started on drums but picked up the guitar 3 years ago. Although relatively new to the professional music scene, he is already well known in the local bluegrass circles as part of the next generation of bluegrass musicians, keeping the traditional acoustic music alive. He has strong rhythm and very creative lead playing.
Influences: Classic Rock, Newgrass Revival and all extensions, David Grisman, Eric Clapton, Neil Peart, John Prine, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon. John Hartford.
