without music life would be an error

About Me

what about me... i'm a student in zurich, studying musicology (now in the 2nd semester) and starting with english and german linguistics in autumn. also have to learn latin for that... so i shouldn't have much free time, but you know how it is... always something nicer to do :) for me that's surfing the net, checking out news from the QaF people, reading fanfics and lots more, or reading a book. i recently discovered english classics, so i buy a lot of those books because i think they rock! especially oscar wilde and jane austen. i'm also a huge fan of harry potter, reading those books over and over while waiting for the very last one of the series... *snif*
i'm basically very shy and reserved, but when i'm with my friends i can be rather talkative and crazy. it takes some time though for me to really open up to someone, i haven't found out yet why that is... it's difficult to describe myself anyway, sometimes my friends know me better than i do :)
music plays a huge part in my life, i've been playing the clarinet in a wind band for 7 years now, sing in a choir, and i'm constantly listening to music in my free time. i'm a huge fan of classical music (especially renaissance into 17th century - the cornetto is my fave instrument since we sang monteverdi's vespres at school - and modern: tchaikovsky, stravinsky, mahler, pärt, ligeti, milhaud, steve reich, you name it...), hence the musicology, but i also like the music in the charts, although i think much of that is kinda rubbish and lots of it is just so similar... i'm all for a beautiful melody to sing along :)
