About Me

Native to South Florida I spent middle and high school years shipped off to schools along the Eastern Seaboard up to New Hampshire where I graduate in 1978. I have spent "Adult" time in Texas, New Hampshire and Florida and vacation time in about 2/3 of the continental United States. I currently work as a staff engineer in the Department of Ocean Engieering at A HREF="http://www.fau.edu Florida Atlantic University. I work at both the Sea Tech Campus in Dania Beach and the Main Campus in Boca Raton. Along with developing various deployable systems I also support the teaching efforts of a number of our faculty. My other "job" is with Boy Scout Troop 204 in Lake Worth. I am currently serving my second year as the Outdoor Chairman which means not only do I help the boys plan their year of camping but I also serve as tour leader for most of those campouts.

My Interests

The World's Oceans, Hiking, Eating and Scouting are my main interests. I also garden, keep aquaria, mine, fish, camp, machine, design, . . .

I'd like to meet:

I am always on the lookout for Scouts and Scouters whose experiences in hiking, camping, sailing, etc. can help me find new and interesting things for my troop to do. I also like to reach out to the educational community to aid them in developing programs for youth that not only teach science and mathmatics but get them hooked on Engineering as a life's interest. In turn they almost always have interesting things that they have come up.

Music:

Along with classic rock I enjoy the works of Isao Tomita and a few other unusual artists.

Television:

Discovery, Food Networt, Animal Planet, History Channel, SciFi Channel, HGTV, . . .

Books:

Science Fiction is my primary interest but I will litterally read any unguarded book left in my reach if I am in the mood to read. My last binge reading was David Weber's Honor Harrington collection and Honorverse books.

Heroes:

Anyone who does their job well and doesn't make an ass of themselves pointing out how great they are for doing so.

My Blog
