For the past 14 years I have truly had the best job in the world! I get to write and record songs and play my guitar for thousands of people every year. I am a full time professional musician and leader/frontman of the Chris Fitz Band. I believe I have passed the 2000 gig mark and only hope I'm lucky enough to play another 4000 or more before I play my last note. There is no place I'd rather be than on stage or in the recording studio!!My band has struggled and paid many dues over the years but it seems things are starting to really pay off. A half dozen music awards later, over 10,000 CD's sold with no record deal or distribution, a 4th CD almost in the can for a spring 2007 release, a great Eurpoean Tour under the belt and a tour schedule of 200 shows a year expanding to California, Memphis and beyond, I really can't complain!The greatest and most meaningful compliment I get from fans is that they always say "you really love what you do, it bleeds off the stage". They are correct, I love what I do!!
New and exciting news!! The Chris Fitz Band has been nominated for our second Boston Music Award!! If you remember, with your amazing help and support we took home the award for "Outstanding New Blues Act" in the 2002 BMA's. Once again we are so honored to be recognized for the 2007 BMA's. It has been 5 great years in between and as we continue to enjoy the success of our new CD released in May we are now asking for your help once again.
The Boston Music Awards are decided by a 50/50 vote, split between a panel of industry judges and most importantly YOUR VOTE! In 2002 our fans came up huge in the voting and we are hoping you can do it again. The polls are now open at www.bostonmusicawards07.com.
