CommentBuddy(Good Thing)Someone once told me that I had this “good thingâ€. Now, I’m not sure exactly what that is, but I know that if there is anything good about me, it is because I have a deeply rooted relationship and a profound understanding of Jesus Christ; and I realize that ultimately my destiny and who I am is tied into who He is.
For some, this faith walk seems easy, but for others, it’s a constant struggle. My battles are not easily won; my life is far from perfect. God has given me a lot, so He requires a lot from me. And sometimes, being an imperfect vessel, I fail.
But that does not mean that I am a failure. It does not mean that I am not saved. It just means that I am human, and as such, am susceptible to error. Now don’t be mislead, I make no excuses for sin, or for my shortcomings. I am just thankful for a God who is full of grace and mercy, and (although he hates sin), accepts me just the way I am.
So yes, I will fall. I will make mistakes. And I will mess up. But my ultimate goal is to be like Him, to imitate my Hero, the Man who paid the ultimate price just to win my heart. He is my good thing and no love exists that is greater than His love for me!
