Evangelion is primarily a Hardcore Band with influences from Death Metal/ Grindcore/Melodic Metal & Sponges. Aww Yeah. The band started off as a pipe dream in November 2006 when good friends Jamie Miller (guitar) & Neil Vernon (vocals) wanted to start a metal band. Evangelion finally started to form in February 2007, with Neil and Jamie being joined by Kane Dalton (drums) & Phil Seaman (guitar) The writing of material had begun.
A bassist was still needed to complete the band and with songs nearing completion. Evangelion was joined by Martyn Jackson, but this was not to be a permanent fixture. Just under one year later and with several gigs under their belts Martyn left the band.
Several months passed before a new bassist was found, but after a short search Evangelion was joined by Rob Greaves in February 2008 and the current line up was completed. Currentlygigging across the UK, now is your chance to see this Leicester 5 Piece Deathmetal/Hardcore band at their Best .
Are you paying too much for your car insurance? Consult the new Evangelion insurance scheme. Aww Yeah.
Evangelion played full on razor sharp metal, tight as a ducks wotsit and absolutely infectious with enough edge to make them stand out from their peers. There are a lot of extremely hard metal bands around at the moment but there aren't many who have a sense of restraint underpinning their arrangements - the understanding that less often amounts to more is lost on a lot of metal bands, who presume that more noise = more power. Evangelion seem to have a real understanding of what makes a track memorable, and that comes across without being pushed at you through primadonna-ish solos or showboating. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
