About Me
Solitude started Djing 8 years ago, after originally getting into the Drum and Bass scene way back during it’s infancy in the early Nineties. It wasn’t until he went to the very first Logical Progression @ the Ministry of Sound in 1995 that he truly fell in love with the sound that was to define the style of Drum and Bass that he would DJ years later. After Djing for only 1 year, he managed to secure a resident slot on Point Blank 108FM now 90.2FM, playing 2-4am on a Sunday morning. Within a year he was promoted to the 10-midnight slot on a Saturday night, not bad considering he was the only D’n’B DJ on Point Blank (the station being predominately a House music station)! This led to meeting his sparring partner DJ Hicks around 6 yrs ago, sharing Solitude’s love of D’n’B they quickly joined forces and went on to jointly host a show on outer London’s finest Creative 103.2 FM. He has played for various promoters including Reading’s Revolution alongside Hicks as well as D’n’B heavy weights such as Nicky Blackmarket, Andy C, Mampi Swift and many others. He has now been a resident @ Subfactory in Reading for over 4 years along side established producers such as Greenfly (FF Recordings, Goodlooking, Camino Blue), Neil Mac (FF Recordings, Cubik, Pandemic), Heist (Metalheadz, Grid, Horizons, Progress, Creative Source, Co Lab, Ful Cycle), Benny Page (Digital Soundboy), Nookie (Phuzion Records, Strictly Digital Goodlooking), Pete Rann (Focuz, Goodlooking, Phuzion Records, Goodlooking) and Qumulus (Strictly Digital, Phuzion Records, Outa London Records, Midnight Sun). Being part of the Subfactory squad he says “I feel like I found my spiritual home, with the Subfactory promoters and DJ’s sharing my love of the soulful side of the Drum ‘n’ Bass spectrum, not to knock anybody else in the scene because the’re all doing there thing for the D’n’ B scene but the music that you will hear me play @ Subfactory & on my Point Blank Radio Show for me is all about quality soulful music that can truly move a dancefloor and at the same time move your emotions when listening at home.â€
