Paul Khoury

Bethlehem based classical music composer with music influnce from the Middle Eastern culture, Paul creates a unique sound. Although his music is acoustic based he uses the piano for all kinds of music leaving his listners speachless in the way he combindes the diffrent musical pieces and toones.Paul Khoury, born in Jerusalem and grew up in the city of Bethlehem. Growing up surrounded by church music and with his mother playing the piano there was never a time when Paul wasn't right next to me on the piano bench his mother says. Every sound of Paul's style unfolds a time through out the years when he was inspiered by the poeple around him.Paul started playing the piano at an early age [Ten] with special performances around his house. Within weeks he started performing. His parents seeing that he had great love for the piano started him on piano lessons. The problem was that, he didn't want to study music. Paul has a musical ear and refused to study or read music. His parents seeing that having a piano teacher give him piano lessons was not working they let him be. His piano teacher would show him how to read the musical notes and he would play it right away by ear.The piano teacher would get upset and tell his mother.While some artists may fear the rawness of playing with just an acoustic piano, Paul welcomes the honesty it comes along with. He claims “In some ways a band is more powerful, but in other ways there are things you can do with one acoustic piano that you couldn't do with an army of musicians behind you.”Paul writes his own music.
