Eplemøya songlag is a vocalgroup with three singers; Liv Ulvik, Wenche Losnegård and Anja Eline Skybakmoen. The singers are all students at The Norwegian Academy of Music, where Liv studies traditional Norwegian singing while Wenche and Anja does jazzvocal and improvisation. They started singing together at Christmas 2005.
The vocalgroup have developed a specific sound, exploring the possibilities in the fusion between jazzvocal and Norwegian traditional singing. They sing their own compositions as well as traditional material arranged in their own way.
The three singers have power and energy. They mix humour, experimental improvisation and storytelling. Their sound is sometimes powerful / sometimes whispering and wondering.
