About Me

We were born in a basement in Pleasant Park, Ontario in 1992. First we were "Betty's Chili". We didn't have microphones, so I screamed into tape recorders with a British accent as I made up songs on the spot. We had a carpeted amplifier that went to 11. The drums were louder than the amp. Most of our songs were about teachers, and students at our high school. "Mr. Robertson". "Mr. McGuire". "Andy's Fur." We weren't good. "He walks into the room. You hit him with a broom." Even when you're 14, that's a horrible lyric. We liked "grunge" way too much. We started writing "real" songs. The British accent was replaced by Cobain/Cornell/Vedderisms. In grade 12 we played whilst parents were bowling. Sometimes David Market played guitar with us. He knew Tea Party songs, and could play guitar solos. We had a microphone, but no stand. I duct taped it to my chin. It worked alright. We played a talent show as "Big Super Death Skull 2000". We didn't have a sound check. You couldn't hear anything. It was bad. Real bad. We lost to an "Eternal Flame" duet. We were real bad. In between furious matches of "Super Spike Volleyball" for Nintendo, we recorded a 14 song tape. "Naodedu" was recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder my dad gave me for Christmas, and "released" in March of 1997. We made and sold 60 copies. Neither of us own one. It had good songs. Here are 4 of them. They are enshrouded in tape hiss. They contain phony "Seattle" vocals that leave me feeling embarrassed, and a little too much kazoo. They are good songs though. I like them. Many thanks to our friend Brett who took a copy of a copy, and made it sound somewhat digitally decent. "Corinthian Theme", and "My Ninja Stars Are Nice" are from the film "Corinthian Smooth : Ninja's Like It On Top". "BMXing", and "Pedals Of The Night (I Used To Be A Bike)" are from the film "BMX"...which was never made.-Glacio de Fluvial 2007You have been marked on my profile map!
