Anna Nicole Smith

Born Vickie Lynn Hogan in Houston, Texas on November 28th 1967 to Virgie Mae Tabers and Donald Eugene Hogan, Anna Nicole Smith was an American sex symbol, model, actress and celebrity. With her striking beauty and curvaceous figure, Anna worked her way up from a local fast food waitress to an international superstar; posing for Playboy, fronting Guess? Jeans & modeling for Hennes & Mauritz. She quickly became the fascination of the media tabloids and was featured on hundreds of magazine covers worldwide. With her vulnerable, bubbly and sometimes outrageous personality, Anna was quickly positioned in the hearts of the world's general public.
Yet behind the glamorous party girl persona was the real Anna - a small town girl at heart and single mother to her beloved son, Daniel, who was just trying to provide the best possible life for her only child. When Daniel tragically passed away on September 10th, 2006, just 3 days after Anna had given birth to her daughter, Dannielynn, many described Anna as being "robbed of her soul" and "eternally heart broken" as a result. Since his death, Anna quickly descended in to a deep depression and, although a committed and loving mother to baby Dannielynn, the loss of Daniel was too much for Anna to bear alone and she often resorted to drug use to ease her pain.
On February 8th, 2007, the world suffered a great loss as Anna Nicole was found unresponsive in her Florida hotel room and was later pronounced dead at the Memorial Regional Hospital - the result of an accidental overdose of chloral hydrate.
She is perceived by many to be the Marilyn Monroe of our time.
