In "Praise of Folly", Erasmus of Rotterdam writes a letter to his friend Thomas More, where he disserts about the similarity between his friend's name and the name of the Greek goddess for folly, Moria. So I see myself in that description of folly. I think the Portuguese translation his much better, much more prosaic (his book is written in this beautiful classical poetical prose way, a delight for the reader). In Portuguese we use the term Loucura (madness), a much more controversial word then folly, in Portuguese, folia. Although, none of these term comes close to the true meaning of what Erasmus intended to transmit. In fact he finds necessary to explain what he means by the term folly and why should she (Moria, the goddess) be praised. Because she has been dishonoured for so long, and she finds it necessary to praise herself! And There's El Morya, Master of the First Ray...
