Youth Band Nights is a local Perth Hills initiative aimed at supporting young people to perform in bands or as solo or group performers. Full sound system and lighting is supplied and performers play to an audience of about 50-100 in a small community hall. The Band Nights are casual, stress free, all ages events and beginners are welcome and supported.
eight Youth Band Nights have been held in Kalamunda Town Square Community Hall since 2006. Band Nights are held on Saturdays during school holidays; - April July and October. Rehearsals were held on the Thursdays the week before the Band Night. Pics are up on this site and on the many bands myspaces that are friends of this myspace.
Up to six bands played each night and many local Hills bands and performers have had a first public performance or built a following through playing at the Band Nights. The bands have also performed at The Zig Zag Festival in October 2006, 2007, and 2008 and other local events. Some bands and performers featured at the Band Nights are now appearing at venues around Perth and recording, some are appearing on TV and winning awards.
