About Me
Ballistics was a hardcore-punk band that began in Houston, Texas, in the Summer of 1996. Ballistics has been called "the rawest band to come out of Houston" by many, and "Houston's best punk band" by a few--although the band would disagree considering the many amazing acts Houston has been home to. Throughout the band's tenure, it recorded several EPs and a full-length album; toured regionally in Texas and Louisiana; and played with many legendary acts, including the Misfits, the Business, and Total Chaos. The Ballistics' original line-up included Jake Ballistic and James Parker on vocals, Jason Sellers on lead guitar, Tim Terror on rhythm guitar, Kelly Jacobs on bass, and Casey Kemp on drums. This line-up recorded the Ballistics' first EP and began the band's career in the Houston-area punk scene. James Parker and Tim Terror subsequently left the band, leaving a line-up consisting of Jake, Jason, Kelly, and Casey.During this era in the band's time-line, Ballistics recorded their full-length album, in the Summer of 2000, entitled: "Sick Earth." *(The recordings on this page were excerpted from "Sick Earth"). The band toured Texas to support the album, earning a strong following throughout the State of Texas. During this time, Ballistics opened for many well-known acts, including the Misfits, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and the Business. The Ballistics were also a regular act at the annual Fitzgerald's Christmas show, opening for the legendary Houston-area band, 30FootFall. After a period of considerable success, the band took a hiatus. It was during this time that Kelly left the band to pursue a college career.Eventually, the band reformed, along with the return of Tim Terror, to play the 2003 Fitzgerald's Christmas show. However, due to personal problems and emotional issues, Kelly did not rejoin the band. Instead, James Parker rejoined and assumed the role of bassist. This became Ballistics' final line-up. The band continued for some time until an incident that resulted in the loss of the band's equipment led to personal disputes within the band, and eventually the band's break-up. However, Jake Ballistic went on to join long-time Houston-area punk rock band P.W.I. (Playing While Intoxicated), a band that had played several shows with Ballistics throughout the years. Jake is currently P.W.I.'s guitarist. Casey, James, and Kelly rejoined efforts to form "THE BAD ONES" a post-punk band that is currently recording an album in Austin, Texas. Tim Terror is now the proud father of Mikhiel Dull, born in 2007.The Ballistics are sincerely grateful to all of the fans, bands, and people that allowed them to make music and experience the very reason why people ever start bands. Thanks for your interest in our band, and please check-out our new endeavors. Thank you for all of the great times, Ballistics
