If you are reading this you may know who I am. I’ll just tell you some stuff about me so u can know me a little better but not too much so u don’t get bored. My name is Laila Tassara but everybody calls me Lai, I was born on May 3rd, 1986 (warning with Taurus!), in a family where music seems to be the centre of attention for every member. My dad played in a band and my brother does now, so if you come home you’ll find guitars, violins, a piano, mics and even a trumpet! When I was a little girl, at the age of 6 years old I started taking piano lessons. I was bored after 4 years so I stupidly gave up. Some time later at the age of 15, I began to go to clubs and listening different kinds of music but I really felt interested in electronic music, so I looked up for new music and found artist I liked such as John Digweed, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold among others. But it wasn’t enough as I wanted to go deeper in it! I listened to some other artists that marked and influenced me such as Martin Garcia (my number 1), Hernan Cattaneo, Derek Howell, James Zabiela, etc. there’s a lot of djs and producers I looove, but the list is too long to put them all here. In 2005 I decided to star producing my own music so I made this track named “Drops Fall Deeper”. I think I was very lucky as my first track was remixed and played at the best clubs and parties such as Pacha and Creamfields. Besides making my tracks I started singing in some of them (something that I’d never done with electronic music), not in mines but I worked with other artists and it went well as for e.g. “The end of the world” (which I made with Facundo Mohrr) was played by Hernan Cattaneo and Deepmariano. So I’m now doing both things, singing and producing and soon I’ll be surely dj-ing too.
