At the age of 13 there was a special talent in a kid who was then called Lil Roc. He began his journey to music when he released his first single (United States). His mother Joann was doing everything in her power to make her son career jump off but times got rough and bills had to be paid. As the rough times continued Joann was unable to get her son back into the studio which led Lil Roc to become discouraged. At the time they were just another family trying to get out of the hood. From middle school to the beginning of high school he was tested by other rappers which led to battles. With no updated studio material he gave up on his dream. Coming into his senior year everybody was a rapper and the game had changed a bit but deep he knew what was meant for him. Through the grace of God and the encouragement of a close friend who also was rapping Roc Dean was formed. Inspired by such artist's as Tupac, Jay Z, Ludacris, Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy, Roc Dean elevated his level. After graduating from school he now had the time that was desired to dedicate his time to music. With him and his mother who was a single parent on there feet, it was time to introduce the world to Roc Dean.
