A Prayer of a Pit Bull
Spirit in the sky, who watches over all animals: It is my prayer and my request that you grant greater understanding, and acceptance to humans; those who love us, and those who hate us. That they will know how loyal we are, how brave we are, and how loving we are. Help them to accept us as a breed in whole, and not let the few tragedies shine brighter than the many great traits that we have. And those who would kill me, let them know, I forgive them, even though I don't understand their hatred. And those who would beat me, let them know I still love them, even though it is not the honorable way. Thank you for all the strong traits that you have given to me, and my breed. Help those to know that I stand for courage, strength, loyalty, and bravery. And as my master already knows, let those who would come against my family know that I would surely die defending them. And just one last thing that I would ask: Let my master know, that if you should call me away, that I will wait patiently at those pearly gates until the one who chose me, comes home.
Suede is the newest addition to the family, she is also two years old, a small pittie weighing in at around 45 pounds and was adopted from the Bowling Green Humane Society in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We saw her plea on Myspace when she was a just a little pup, who had been battling a bad infection on her right arm and right side of her face. Turns out when Suede was taken in at 8 weeks to be spayed something went horribly wrong and Suede got a terrible infection from it and had to undergo furthur intensive and expensive treatment to save her life! She went to a foster home until she was 4 months old, and that's when we had the honor of adopting her! We drove to Bowling Green, approx. 900 miles round trip to go pick her up from the shelter. Once we actually saw her, we immediately fell in love and so did she! We knew she was the one and she was totally worth the long trip! She was the best anniversary gift I could have asked for! I wouldn't trade her for the world, her and Haze are now inseperable and the best of friends.
The names Haze. I am an American Pit Bull Terrier. I am two years old and spoiled rotten! I love fetching, tug-o-war, chasing, and just geeking out from time to time! (If you're a pit bull, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, we all do it!)
Being outside is my favorite, whether I'm playing, going for a walk/hike, or just sunbathing I love the outdoors! I used to be scared of it, but now I've learned to love it! I am obessed with swimming! I could swim for hours if mom would let me! I am mostly a pretty calm boy. I like lounging around the house with Mom and Dad. I am on Mom's heels at all times, I want to know where she is at and what she is doing, I can not miss out!! I really enjoy snoozing and playing with my ferret and squirrel friends in the house. Mom says I am all around the best dog she could ask for, and apparently I'm very smart too! I know sit, down, shake, stay, come, give, leave it and fetch. I know them all but sometimes I'm hard-headed and just don't want to listen! whoops? BOL
