THE TAR BABIES WERE AN INCREDIBLE BAND THAT DID TO MIDWEST WHAT THE BIG BOYS DID TO TEXAS, FUNKED IT ALL UP. nontheless, they were an amazingly creative and original band that produced fantastic records of both hardcore and the funk genre. they definatly had a different mindset than sticking to a simplistic musical way of looking things, although the reason they arent very popular is probably because people expected the opposite: your "typical" hardcore band. they were nothin like it!they eventually found there way to SST records through husker du's bob mould(who produced their first ep). on SST the released a few records, the best one being their SST debut, FRIED MILK!!FUNKY PUNK!
