How did three young ladies from Salisbury, MD come to open up for Bow Wow, the biggest teenage star in the game? Talent, hard work and ambition are just a few pieces to the puzzle needed for this trio. These young ladies were willing to persevere to pursue their dream to become entertainers. From throwing their demo at Jagged Edge as they passed by on a parade float; to dancing outside the building of Virgin Records; to singing on Bad Boys’ answering machine in hopes of a call back, but none of the antidotes can compare to the excitement they felt when they were offered the opportunity to open up for Bow Wow. The amazing response that they received from Bow Wow’s mostly fickle; often unmoved, hard-core female fans were incomparable. Opening up to 8 thousand female fans on an all male ticket (Bow Wow, Mario & R.O.C) was nothing short of a challenge that the girls were excited to conquer and they did with the showmanship of stars. After each show, Denim was asked to stay backstage because their appearance caused too much commotion in the audience. However, Denim did not win the crowd by chance; they have put in time and a lot of hard work with choreographer Jamaica who has also worked with Usher and Ciara. Since the age of 8 Aileah Morris, and twins Stacey Everett and Tracey Everett have been wowing audiences at concerts, talent shows, telethons, festivals, and parties. They knew that hard work would pay off and after appearing on 106 & Park (60 seconds of Fame) and the Queen Latifah Show (Talent Showcase) their dreams took another turn when they met rapper R.O.C who in turn introduced them to his producer Muhammad “MadBall” Bell. MadBall was impressed with the girls’ trademark harmonic performance and lively demeanor. The girls’ chemistry is like no other girl group. Their songs are packed with hard beats and edgy lyrics but their image is clean and non-offensive. The group did a music video to their song entitled, Good Stuff. The Game, a pilot show for BET, came to shoot behind the scenes footage. The second part of the video was shot in the group’s hometown Salisbury, MD where the girls are considered local celebrities. One of their radio stations back home added Good Stuff to their play list after the song was the number 1 most requested song for over 3 days. Now with the experience they’ve gained and recognition they’ve received; Denim is ready to take the industry by storm.
