The Beach Street Blues Band

About Me

We are "The Beach Street Blues Band" a duo who like to sit around our little home studio "Radical Departure Records" laying down our brand of good old fashion Blues and Rock and Roll. We've been jamming together for about 3 years, using our favorite gear, a '79 Fender Strat, an '81 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top and a Dean Razorback "Cemetary Gates" played through Roland Amps.
The "Sixty-One Forty-Nine" material was recorded using Sonar Home Studio 6, Audio Technica AT2020 Mics, M-Audio USB 2 interface and a dual core computer running latest OS.
The "Happy to Play the Blues" material was recorded using the "Krystal Audio Engine" software on a computer running Windows ME.
Bear in mind that these tracks are demos and were never meant to be anything but us having fun, making it up as we go along, laying it down fast and dirty, on many occasions writing the material even as we're recording it. As for the mixes, well mixing has never been my strong suit and although I am learning I don't think the final mix downs do the songs the justice they deserve. That said, if you like what you hear, or even if you don't...feel free to leave a comment...one way or another...Happy Listening.
One final note: No member of the group, nor "The Beach Street Blues Band" name are affiliatied in any way with Beach Street Records out of Franklin, Tennesse. Nothing wrong with B.S.R., and I'm not trying to say there is. This is simply a disclaimer intended for informational purposes designed to avoid confusion between the two entities as they now, or might one day exist.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: MySpace.com/thebeachstreetbluesband
Band Members: Spunky "Ace" Milburn and Jamie "The Renz" Renwick...us two gals, thats it. The rest is all smoke and mirrors.
Influences: First and foremost, of course... Cap'n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters (get it?). What else but 'The Blues', Rythm and Blues, Rock-a-Billy and Rock and Roll. Old school stuff. Real R and B, Soul, Rockabilly and Blues. I'm talking about Delta, Memphis and Chicago Electric Blues; stuff out of Stax, Chess, Sun Records; that Southern Black Gospel and Soul, the music that originated in the Appalachians, from Poor Valley Virginia, that wandered down from the Tennesse hills as Rock-a-Billy, the Blues that migrated out of the Mississippi Delta. Music so good, so real and authentic it hurts your feelings to listen to (if you know what I mean), and all the players and singers who were inspired by it.
Sounds Like: The Blues! Rock & Roll!
Record Label: Radical Departure Records
Type of Label: Indie
