About Me

In a small town in southeast Missouri, Jamie Teachenor began playing the piano and singing. His musical influences include Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles and his father, Jim Teachenor.
His father was a riverboat first mate who frequently made trips to Memphis and Nashville pursuing his music career. The love for music Jamie saw in his father was bound in him from an early age. By the age of nine, Jamie was fronting bands playing soulful country and boogie-woogie in local bars. His indescribable talent to sing and play the piano drew huge crowds from the surrounding areas, landed him in all the local newspapers, and regionally gained him lots of radio airplay.
While he loves to perform, Jamie also has a strong passion for writing songs. Creative, yet rootsy melodies with meaningful lyrics have become the standard for his writing career. Teachenor first appeared on the charts in 2005, with Blaine Larsen’s debut hit single, “How Do You Get That Lonely”, a song that is proving to be a timeless message in the face of teenage suicide. He is currently signed to Sony/ATV Tree and My Good Girl Music Publishing companies. Having a span of songs recorded from such artists as Cledus T. Judd, all the way to Montgomery Gentry and Gretchen Wilson, Jamie continues to prove himself as a contender in the world of songwriting.
Teachenor has a long list of television and radio appearances, including, ABC’s "Good Morning America", the “Grand Ole Opry” live, at both, the Opry House and the Historic Ryman Auditorium, CNN and MSNBC, just to name a few.
Jamie continues to love writing songs for other artists, but is also in the process of working on his own debut album. His new Country love and Rockabilly/R&B roots are sure to bring a retro-fresh breath of air onto the country music scene.
