Experimenting with Photographic Techniques such as :
Double Exposure
Placing two negatives on top of one another creates double exposure.
This is also known as Superimposing.
Joining
Joiners are created by shooting different frames and joining each print together by slightly overlapping each print.
Joiners were discovered by David Hockney, He named them "Hockney Joiners"
Toning
Toners are used to dye prints, Sepia Toner dyes print a brown tone and Blue Toner dyes print a blue tone.
Split toning is a method of creating a two-tone effect.
Vignetting
Vignetting is created by cutting an oval shape out of a piece of paper and moving the piece of paper up and down whilst the print is being exposed to light.
This gives a soft edge to the print.
Over Laying
Over laying is created by over laying materials such as paper, bubble wrap and glass onto the print whilst the print is being exposed to light.
Solarization
Solarization is created by setting the aperture to eight and exposing the print, the print is placed into the developer until the image starts to appear, as soon as the image starts to appear the aperture is to be opened at 2.8 and exposed for 1 Second, the print is then placed back into the developer and developed as normal.
Postive and Negative Prints
Positive and Negative Prints are created by placing the photographic paper and a print between a plate of glass and taking the negative out then exposing the print to light for 8 Seconds. This reverses the dark and light areas of the print.
